On Thursday, September 4, 2025, Mr. Hariri, the newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, held a meeting with Mr. Chen Guanjun, Head of the Foreign Affairs Office of People's Government of Guangdong Province, at the commencement of his mission.  Mr. Chen extended a warm welcome to Mr. Hariri and congratulated him on his new appointment. Highlighting the long-standing and friendly relations between Guangdong Province and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Chen emphasized his department's determination and full readiness to continue cooperation and provide comprehensive support to the Consulate General of Iran in fulfilling its mission in the new era.  In response, Mr. Hariri expressed his gratitude to the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office for its hospitality and longstanding cooperation with the Consulate General over the past years. He conveyed his satisfaction with being stationed in China's most dynamic and economically significant province and expressed his hope for continued and enhanced support and cooperation between the two sides in the future.  Furthermore, Mr. Hariri outlined key priorities for his tenure, including plans to increase trade volume and exchanges, develop cultural and tourism partnerships, and facilitate delegation exchanges between Iran and Guangdong.
